Our next virtual meetup is scheduled for Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 8 am Central via Zoom.
Dr. Deming: “The performance of anybody, almost anybody, is governed almost totally by the system he/she works in… In actual life it may be that 98% of performance comes from the system. Most of what we observe comes from the system… their output is governed by the system.”
Beginning in the early 1980s, Dr. Deming used his infamous Red Bead Experiment to clearly and dramatically illustrate several points about poor management practices.
Join us as we run a homemade virtual simulation of Deming’s Red Bead Experiment (using MS Excel). We will explore lessons from this simulation and apply it to our workplace. Additionally, we will demonstrate a quick overview of the statistics behind the Red Bead Experiment and connect it to the Operations Law of Variation.
